Her goal is to encourage and recognize the artists that create in this medium which allows them to work in a mixture of traditional techniques, designs and materials. The contemporary art quilt has become a unique art form and through this award she hopes to add to the recognition and importance of this type of art. The winning quilt was selected for artistic merit by the three Visions jurors.
