			For the last three VISIONS exhibitions, Quilt San Diego has had a "Community Quilt" designed and pieced. For the 1994 Community Quilt, titled Layers of Excellence, we requested that the artists whose works were part of the exhibition contribute an original quilt block utilizing some of the same fabrics used in their exhibition quilt. These blocks were then assembled into a quilt top by Christen Brown and Julia Zgliniec. During the exhibition, the people attending VISIONS were given an opportunity to add their stitches to the quilt and sign the registry book making the quilt truly a "Community Quilt." The tradition of having a "Community Quilt" has become a very popular and anticipated part of the VISIONS exhibitions.
